Ray Allen - Shooter of the Month for January

We've just announced our Shooter of the Month for January, click on the title below to read the full story and exactly why our boy Ray Allen (pictured right) got the nod.

Ray Allen - Shooter of the Month for January

There was plenty of competition for last month's Shooter of the Month award. The contenders in no particular order were:

* Danny Granger - Indiana Pacers in the NBA (40% fg, 94% ft, 2.9 triples per game)
* Mo Williams - Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA (46% fg, 92% ft, 2.7 triples per game)
* Troy Murphy - Indiana Pacers in the NBA (47% fg, 90% ft, 2.6 triples per game)
* Shawn Redhage - Perth Wildcats in the NBL (54% fg, 92% ft, 20ppg)
* John Rillie - Townsville Crocodiles in the NBL (48% fg, 100% ft, 44% 3pfg)

The winner of the January Shooter of the Month award goes to Boston Celtic shooting guard Ray Allen. His numbers were 19 points per game, 51.8% from the field, 100% from the line and he averaged 2.7 triples per game. On his 100% from the line, Ray just missed a free-throw 3 days ago that saw his streak end at a club record 72.

Ray Allen is one of the best basketball shooting players in the world and has one of the sweetest, smoothest strokes you will ever see. We've written a number of articles on the blog about Ray so I'll let some of his records do the talking:
